We bid a loving farewell to James J. Telliard Sr., age 90, born in Cleveland, Sept. 4, 1923. He was born to Martha and Frances Telliard and he was one of six brothers and sisters. Jim and two of his brothers served in the Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific. His early years after the war were spent in the Cleveland area where he began a business career in the laundry supply business, Merchants Towel Linen Supply where he soon became manager and then owner. His life was filled with business adventures, which includes a four year management of a laundry facility in Puerto Rico (1950s) and his prize venture, The Oak Harbor Golf Course (in Ohio).
Jim was also blessed with a happy 46 year marriage with Delorez Telliard (deceased), six children; James Jr., Jeff (wife Liz), Charlie (wife Laurel), Debbra (husband Mike Bassett), Jon (wife Doris) and Marscia Zaccaria, all providing him with a total of 13 devoted grandchildren and two great grandchildren. All have enjoyed the benefits and participation in his many business adventures.
His last 26 years were blessed with ski trips, world travel and, of course, the many years of his favorite sport of all: golf. All of these were enjoyed with love and laughter and shared with his devoted and loving wife Ella.
Donations can be made in his memory to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave. West Palm Beach, Florida 33407.
