The Danbury Lakers fell to Cardinal Stritch, 51-29, last weekend, losing their fourth straight game.
The loss leaves the Lakers at 1-8 overall and 0-4 in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference.
Stritch was led by point guard Joey Cousino, who led all scorers with 16 points. Austin Adams, one of the area's top players, was held to 14 points, but it was not enough as the Cardinals were able to race out to a 10-5 lead after one quarter before going ahead 21-8 at halftime.
Danbury battled Stritch (5-6, 3-3 TAAC) to a 14-14 tie in the third period but the Cardinal blew the game open in the fourth by outscoring the Lakers, 16-7.
Freshman point guard John Rhodes led Danbury with eight points and Zak Miller chipped in with seven.
This Friday the Lakers host Maumee Valley CD at 7:30 p.m. The Hawks, who won the conference last season, have struggled a bit this year and are currently 3-6 and 2-2 in the TAAC.
