Danbury girls improve to 4-0 in the TAAC

By Yaneek Smith

After falling to Seneca East in their previous game, the Danbury Lakers bounced back to defeat league foe Maumee Valley Country Day, 43-25.

The Lakers offense featured another balanced attack as Erin Lavelle, Alyssa Almendinger and Stephanie Kukay each scored eight points to lead Danbury.

Kennedie Jackson led the Hawks with 10 points.

With the win, the Lakers are now 5-4 overall and 4-0 in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference.

This week, the Lakers enter a difficult portion of their schedule. They host Oak Harbor in non-conference action before taking on top of two teams in the TAAC. The Lakers host Toledo Christian (8-2, 5-0 TAAC) on Thursday, travel to Ottawa Hills (5-5, 3-2 TAAC) on Saturday and host St. Mary CC on Tuesday.
