OH girls win fourth straight, improve to 8-2

With a 54-36 win over Margaretta last week, the Oak Harbor Rockets improved to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in the Sandusky Bay Conference.

It was the fourth consecutive win for Oak Harbor, which took an early 11-8 lead after the first quarter before pushing the lead to 25-17 at the half before slowly pulling away in the final two quarters.

Andrea Cecil led all scorers with 18 points and Maddy Rathbun chipped in with 11. Athena Eli, who's been playing better as of late, scored nine points and gave the Rockets to lead for good at 9-6 late in the first quarter after connecting on a three-pointer.

The Polar Bears (4-5, 2-5 SBC) got 12 points from Kristen Yost and nine from Becca Denman.

Oak Harbor 42, Woodmore 29

Athena Eli had a breakout performance, scoring a career-high 20 points as she led the Rockets to a 42-29 victory over Woodmore in non-conference action last week.

Emma Barney and Andrea Cecil finished with nine points apiece as Oak Harbor, which trailed 8-7 after the first quarter, took a 19-15 lead into the half before outscoring the Wildcats, 23-14 in the second half.
