The Rockets won a thriller against the Redskins last week, holding them off for the 47-46 win to move into sole possession of second place in the Sandusky Bay Conference.

Sophomore forward Andrea Cecil led all scorers with 24 points, scoring 11 in the first quarter to help Oak Harbor (9-2, 6-1 SBC) grab an 18-9 lead after one quarter.

Holding a 35-28 lead heading into the fourth quarter, the Rockets were able to control things for much of the period as they pushed the advantage to 41-32 before Port Clinton (8-3, 5-2 SBC) made a run.

Senior forward Hope Thorbahn helped the 'Skins cut the deficit to 44-41 with 51 seconds remaining. Oak Harbor point guard Emma Barney connected on 1-of-2 free throws to push the lead to 45-41 before Tiffany Colston drained a three-pointer to cut the lead to one with 20.2 seconds left. Barney responded by making two free throws on the other end and Thorbahn answered to cut the deficit to one again. After Cecil missed two free throws with two seconds left, Port Clinton was unable to get a shot off that could have won it.

Barney finished with 10 points, followed by Maddy Rathbun (7) and Amanda Hetrick (6), who hit a number of key free throws in the fourth quarter to help the Rockets get the win. Colston led the Redskins with 19 points and Thorbahn finished with 14.
