Barbara Ann Zunk, Dec. 16, 1950-May 20, 2013

Barbara Ann Zunk, 62, of Oak Harbor, passed away on May 20, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Barb was born December 16, 1950, in Port Clinton. She was the daughter of Frederick and Lucille (Lorensen) Zunk.

Viewing hours are 2-8 p.m., Thursday, May 23, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, May 24, with an hour visitation prior from 10-11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 9789 W. Oak Harbor S.E. Co. Rd. #17, Oak Harbor. Final resting place will be in Roose Cemetery, Salem Township, Oak Harbor. A bereavement gathering will be held back at the church following interment. Memorial Day Services for Veterans in Port Clinton

On Monday, May 27, Port Clinton will honor those who lost their lives and veterans.

At 9 a.m. memorial services will be conducted at Port Clinton Yacht Club for those who lost their lives at sea. Wreaths will be cast from the City Harbor patrol boat into the river.

At 10 a.m. the parade will form in front of the former Port Clinton Junior High School. It will proceed north on Madison to Perry, east on Perry to Jefferson, to west on Second Street and to Monroe Street Veterans’ Park.

Mary’s Blossom Shop helps tornado victims with flowers

Once again Mary Gangway Snyder of Mary’s Blossom Shoppe has stepped up to help raise funds for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Mary’s Blossom Shoppe is offering a wrapped bouquet of three carnations and three roses, cash and carry, for $10.  All proceeds will support the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

You can help people affected by disasters like tornadoes, floods and other crises by making a donation to provide shelter, food and emotional support to those affected by disasters like the recent Oklahoma tornado.

This special fundraiser starts today and runs through May 28.  The Shoppe will be opened the entire holiday weekend.

Important Danbury School meeting

Danbury Schools will be holding a meeting for parents and concerned community members n Thursday, May 30, at 7 p.m., about how Danbury schools will respond to an emergency.
