Marblehead kicks off Sunset Strolls May 10

Now that winter snow is finally gone and everyone is looking forward to a warm spring and summer, merchants along Main Street (SR 163) in the historic village of Marblehead are kicking off the new season with Second Saturday Sunset Strolls, starting May 10.

Participating Marblehead merchants, including shops and restaurants, will extend evening hours the second Saturday of each month from 5-7 p.m. Each location will display the Sunset Stroll logo and will have cards to distribute to customers that can be used for discounts and specials at participating merchants. The cards, which will be valid from May through October, can also be obtained at the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce office, 5681 East Harbor Road, Marblehead.

St. Joseph’s to celebrate the Feast of Divine Mercy

St. Joseph Catholic Church will celebrate the Feast of Divine Mercy on Sunday, April 27 at 3 p.m. The hour of prayer will include scripture readings and songs of the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Veneration of the Image of Divine Mercy, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Litany of Praise and prayers for the church. The event will be led by St. Joseph Choir. Refreshments and fellowship will follow in the church hall.

Toledo Symphony Brass Quintet at Riverview, Otterbein

The Musical Arts Series at Firelands is sponsoring two free concerts by the Toledo Symphony Brass Quintet on April 24, thanks to a grant from the Ottawa County Community Foundation.  The concerts will be held at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Rt. 163, Oak Harbor, at 2 p.m. and at Otterbein Northshore, 9400 Northshore Blvd, Lakeside-Marblehead, at 3:30 p.m.  The public, as well as friends and relatives of residents of these two communities, are invited to attend.  These concerts replace two in March that were cancelled because of snow.
