Danbury Township fall clean-up week is Oct. 21-25

Danbury Township will have the big dumpsters available at township hall Oct. 21-25 for residents to dispose of household items, appliances, steel and metal. The township will pay for Freon removal from appliances. Employees will be on hand 7 a.m-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on Friday from 7 a.m. until the end of clean-up at 11 a.m. to assist residents with unloading. Do not bring tires, brush, oil, paint, batteries, boats, vehicles or propane tanks. Scrapping for metal is prohibited and will be enforced by Danbury Township Police. This is the last clean-up week for 2013.


Keeper’s House raffle winners

Little Alex Porter, son of Captain Brian Porter of the 14th Ohio Civil War unit, drew the winning tickets for the Wolcott Keeper's House raffle during the Lighthouse Festival encampment Saturday, Oct. 12.  The winners were Bob and Annette Textor of Curtice, John Fritz of Port Clinton, Linda Kolinko of Port Clinton and Sue Lavoie of Marblehead.

A Marblehead VFW Ladies Auxiliary dinner was held Sept. 24th at the post followed by an inspection meeting which was led by Aux. 7572 President Deb Garrard, who is also District 9 Sr. Vice.  This inspection was done by District 9 Jr. Vice Lisa Cook, who was presented a beautiful American Flag sweater created by local Auxiliary sister Mary Ann Monak.
