Gee, is there something kind of important happening this Saturday? Oh yes, the Big Ten Champions of THE Ohio State University travel up to Ann Arbor for their annual tussle with the John Schaffner“School Up North!” The good folks at First National Bank will celebrate the rivalry this Friday by dressing up in their favorite school’s attire in exchange for donations to area food pantries, to be dropped in designated team boxes! Good cause and GO BUCKS!!!

We had 132 correct entries in our Find Wylie contest last week. David Saylor, of Port Clinton, found Wylie in the Bassett’s ad on page 3A of last week’s Beacon. He wins a pair of $10 gift certificates to Cleats. We’ll hide Wylie again this week. If you find him, drop us a note at our office or click on the Find Wylie icon online at www.thebeacon.net. Fred Fenske, who lives in the Cleveland area, was selected from 83 entries and won a $20 Friendship Food Stores Gas Card just by clicking on the “Win it on the Web” icon.
