BCS welcomes new treasurer

The Benton-Carroll-Salem School District has welcomed a new member to the administrative team: treasurer Tim Coffman. Coffman comes to the district after serving as treasurer for Old Fort Local Schools. He Coffmanbegan his career in the private sector for the banking industry where he worked for five years. He finished his private sector work as a financial analyst and internal auditor for Periodical Publishers’ Service Bureau, LLC where he worked for 10 years.


Relay For Life starts Friday

This is the big weekend! The Ottawa County Relay for Life begins at 6 p.m. Friday, June 8 , and lasts until noon Saturday, June 9. So much is planned for those 18 exciting hours at the Oak Harbor High School Athletic Field.  
With a Disney-themed — “When You Wish Upon A Cure” — the planning committee created themed laps along with some traditional favorites for the 18 registered teams. All survivors are invited to the Dessert Reception in the Auxiliary gym from 4:30 to 4:45 p.m. T-shirts and goodie bags will be available here also.  


Log Cabin series begins

The Oak Harbor Log Cabin entertainment series kicks off June 10 with a performance by Legacy 2. The village band is made up of Steve Bast, Donnie Ray Crozier and Jerry and Marie Wittman. Join in for a little Motown, rock and country music.
A history lesson will start at 5:15 p.m. on the porch of the cabin, given by Frank Gluth, John Liske and Richard Martin. The band will take the stage from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
