Small Business Saturday

Rockets fall to Edison in rout

In a game that was closer than the final score would indicate, Oak Harbor fell, 56-26, to the Edison Chargers in Sandusky Bay Conference action last Thursday.

After battling to a 9-9 tie after one quarter and taking a 23-18 lead into the half, Edison pulled away by outscoring the Rockets 13-4 in the third quarter and 20-14 in the final period.

The Chargers’ Chris Laughlin led all scorers with 17 points and center Luke Frankboner chipped in with 16.

Oak Harbor (1-3, 0-2 SBC) got 11 points from Andy Rathbun and six from Josh Sarahman.

The Rockets have three games this week as they travel to Huron on Tuesday and host Clyde and St. Joseph CC during the weekend.


‘Skins lose first game of the season

In a back-and-forth game that saw momentum change hands numerous times, Margaretta outscored Port Clinton by 11 points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Redskins 75-62 in Sandusky Bay Conference action last Thursday.

Behind great performances from Dylan Bailey and Austin Spicer, the Polar Bears (2-1, 1-0 SBC) outscored Port Clinton 22-11 in the final period to take control of the game after entering the final eight minutes with a two-point lead.

Redskins guard Nathan Stubblefield had 25 points to lead his club and Stefan Daniels and Drew Fodor chipped in with nine and seven points.


Danbury cancelled games rescheduled

Danbury has rescheduled the following events from Saturday's cancellations:

Varsity & JV Girls Basketball against Maumee Valley Country Day will be rescheduled to Saturday, Jan. 25 with a 1 p.m. JV start.

Varsity Boys Basketball game at Bettsville on Saturday has been changed to Tuesday, Dec. 17 to begin at 6 p.m., that is varsity only.
