Port Clinton defeats Edison in convincing fashion

Port Clinton recovered from a tough loss to Clyde and got back to its winning ways by defeating Edison 68-29 in Sandusky Bay Conference action last week.

Hope Thorbahn and Tiffany Colston scored 16 points apiece as the Redskins raced out to a 20-2 lead after the first quarter and controlled the game throughout.

Port Clinton, which improved to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in the league, got 13 points from Emily Ashley. The 'Skins play Oak Harbor this week in a battle of second-place teams.

Port Clinton falls to Huron, 65-55

Despite playing well at times, the Port Clinton Redskins fell to Huron 65-55 in Sandusky Bay Conference action last weekend.

Port Clinton guard Nathan Stubbelfield led all scorers with 22 points and was instrumental in helping to keep his team in the game.

After holding an early lead, the 'Skins rallied to cut the deficit within five points several times but were unable to get over the hump. Port Clinton trailed 29-25 and 37-33 before the Tigers (4-1, 3-1 SBC) were able to build their lead each time.

Carter Rumball helped pace the 'Skins with 11 points and hit a three-pointer with 2:40 to play to cut the deficit to 59-54 before Huron finished the game out on a 6-1 run to get the victory.
