OH girls fall to Clyde

Trailing by one point late in the first quarter, Clyde scored 32 unanswered points, holding Oak Harbor scoreless in the second quarter on their way to a 59-23 victory.

The loss, which breaks an eight-game win streak for the Rockets, drops Oak Harbor to 12-3 and 8-2 in the Sandusky Bay Conference. 

Andrea Cecil had 18 points to lead the Rockets and Amanda Cahill also scored 18 to help pace the Fliers.

Oak Harbor boys defeat Columbian at the buzzer

With the score tied and just seconds remaining, Oak Harbor’s Tyler Sievert hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Rockets a 42-39 victory over Tiffin Columbian in non-conference action last week.

The Rockets (5-11) controlled the first half, taking a 14-10 lead after the first quarter and a 25-18 lead at halftime before the Tornadoes cut the deficit to 30-29 after three quarters.

Sievert and Andy Rathbun led Oak Harbor with 10 points and Derek Wood chipped in with eight.

PC girls rebound with two straight wins

Behind 15 points from Emily Ashley, the Port Clinton Redskins won their second straight game, defeating Lake, 47-34, in non-conference action on Monday.

Port Clinton (10-3) was in control for much of the game, outscoring the Flyers, 13-7, in the first quarter and allowed just two points in the second period.

In addition to Ashley’s 15 points, Hannah Weaver and Hope Thorbahn finished with 11 points apiece and Tiffany Colston scored five points.
