Danbury eighth graders tour Gettysburg & Washington D.C.

The Danbury Middle School 8th grade class took a four-day educational trip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C.

The group left Danbury in their charter bus on Tuesday (Election Day) at 6:20 a.m. and spent their first day in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.  Upon arrival to the Gettysburg Heritage Center the students viewed a film, "Gettysburg: An Animated Map".  Presented in conjunction with the Civil War Trust, the program takes an in-depth look at the three day battle, including the aftermath and the dedication of Soldiers' National Cemetery.  ", The students then took a battlefield tour and went on a guided “ghost walk” through town that evening.  They had dinner at the historic Dobbin House,which was part of the Underground Railroad prior to the Civil War.


American Red Cross babysitter training at Danbury Middle School

American Red Cross babysitter training will be offered to students residing in the Danbury School District on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 8 and 9, from 3:45-7 p.m.  Students must attend both sessions.  Instructor for the training is Lea Mark.  Registration forms are available in the middle school office, or by calling 419-798-2258. Registration deadline is Friday, December 4.


Danbury Administration holiday hours

The Danbury Township Zoning and Administration offices at the Hall will be closed Thanksgiving Day, but also Friday, November 27, following the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

These offices will also be closed Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24, in addition to Christmas Day.

Messages may be left at the offices, but will not be returned until the next business day open. All emergency public service departments will be available on these dates with no interruption.
