Danbury loses to Gibsonburg, prepares for Hilltop

Unfortunately, Danbury has run into two teams in each of the last few weeks that are playing some of their best football of the year.

Facing a Gibsonburg unit that put up 64 points in its previous game, the Lakers fell, 63-21, to the Golden Bears to drop to 2-7 and 1-5 in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference. Gibsonburg, meanwhile, has won three of its last four games and is now 5-4 and 4-2 in the TAAC.

Danbury Twp. Volunteer Fire Department

The Danbury Township Fire Department was formed in July of 2013 from the existing Lakeside and Marblehead Fire Departments. Through the years, both departments have received great support from both the residents and the business communities.

This year, Danbury Township Fire Department continued the tradition of the Lakeside Annual Spaghetti Dinner. The support and attendance of the residents of the community made this year very successful, with over 500 dinners being served.

Danbury loses to Ottawa Hills, looks to finish the season on a high note

Ottawa Hills controlled this one throughout, scoring on its first two possessions before rolling to a 53-14 victory over Danbury.

The Green Bears, who improved to 3-5 and and 3-2 in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference, jumped out to a 14-0 lead behind two touchdown runs (4, 9) by Austin Stevens before the Lakers (2-6, 1-4 TAAC) responded by driving 72 yards and scoring a touchdown on a 4-yard run by Cody German to cut the deficit in half early in the second quarter.
