Lady Lakers fall to St. Mary's

On January 13, the Danbury girls fell behind early against Sandusky St. Mary’s as the visiting Panthers outscored the Lakers by 8 and 5 in the first two quarters. The Lady Lakers got within one point late in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t quite get the victory in a 62-51 loss.

Community Unity Sunday Gathering

The Danbury Ministerial inviting the public to a gathering of the churches on the Peninsula on Sunday, January 18, 5 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church fellowship hall.  There will be a potluck with clergy bringing the delicious main dishes and everyone else bringing a side, salad or dessert.  

After the fellowship of a meal together, each congregation is asked to have a representative speak to their area(s) of community service and to a key Bible verse that guides them.  All local churches are encourage to participate in the fun.

Stinchcomb leads Danbury boys to victory

Holding a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, Danbury outscored Northwood by seven points in the final period to defeat the Rangers, 52-44, to pick up their first Toledo Area Athletic Conference win of the season.

Behind Hunter Stinchcomb's game-high 19 points, the Lakers (2-7, 1-4 TAAC) took a 14-9 lead after the first quarter only to see Northwood respond by winning the second quarter, 17-11, to take a 26-25 lead into the break. Danbury outscored the Rangers, 11-9, in the third quarter to take a 36-35 lead into the fourth.

Despite having just one player finish in double figures, the Lakers had a balanced scoring attack that saw seven players finish with at least four points. Ryan Chapman scored eight points and John Rhodes and Ben Schank finished with six points apiece.
