Danbury looks to get over the hump

Last season, the Danbury Lakers struggled to a 3-7 season, but were quite close to going 5-5, losing two games in gut-wrenching fashion. This year, head coach Bryan Dudash is hoping his offense can continue to put up points and that the defense can improve and hold its opponents in check.

The defense, more than anything, will be instrumental to Danbury’s success this year as the Lakers trying to establish themselves as one of the top teams in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference. For the past three years, Danbury has been able to consistently put up points, but it’s been defensively where they’ve struggled.

Danbury athletic passes now available

Danbury athletic passes are now on sale in the high school office daily from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.  Passes are $225 for intermediate family, $100 for adults, $35 for student, and $30 for senior citizens.

Danbury Laker Athletic Boosters 21st annual reverse raffle

The Danbury Lakers Athletic Boosters 21st annual reverse raffle will be held Saturday, August 2 at St. Mary Social Hall in Marblehead. Grand prize for the night will be $10,000 cash; other prizes will be awarded throughout the night.

Tickets are $120 and include the raffle as well as a prime rib and honey glazed chicken dinner. Additional dinner tickets can be purchased for $20.
