Gibsonburg pulls away from Danbury

Sometimes, the final score is very deceiving.

That was certainly the case in Danbury’s 58-24 loss to Gibsonburg on Friday night at Biro Field.

In its matchup with the top team in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference, the Lakers fought tooth and nail to hang with the Golden Bears before Gibsonburg pulled away, pushing its 35-24 lead, which it held early in the fourth quarter, to 58-24 by scoring 23 unanswered points in the game’s final nine minutes.

Lakers fall short in comeback attempt versus Edon

Down 27 points midway through the third quarter, the easy thing for the Danbury Lakers to do would’ve been to quit.

Instead, Danbury rallied, cutting the deficit to 13 and 11 points, respectively, before falling short, losing, 54-43, to Edon in Toledo Area Athletic Conference on Friday.

Trailing 48-21, the Lakers drove 60 yards in 10 plays, scoring on Taylon Molnar’s five-yard run up the middle, cutting the deficit to 20 points.
