Cell Phones for Survivors program

Lakers fall to Toledo Christian

Facing one of the league’s best teams is never easy and the Danbury Lakers found that out last week in their 69-31 loss to Toledo Christian in Toledo Area Athletic Conference play.

The Eagles took control from the outset, outscoring the Lakers 20-6 after the first quarter before taking a 40-11 lead into the half. 

TC had three players score in double figures, Faith Johnson (22), Camille Gist (19) and Darian Westmeyer (18).

Danbury (1-4, 0-2 TAAC) got nine points from Erin Lavelle and seven from Megan Stephens.

The Lakers have two road games this week against Cardinal Stritch and Port Clinton.

Lakers fall but continue to make strides

Trailing by two heading into the fourth quarter, the Danbury Lakers fell short in their matchup with Maumee Valley Country Day, losing 56-45 last week in Toledo Area Athletic Conference action.

After falling behind 20-11 in the first quarter and 31-20 at halftime, Danbury outscored the Hawks 16-7 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 38-36 heading into the final period.

Unfortunately, MVCD outscored the Lakers 18-9 in the fourth quarter to pull away.
