Mums on display at Schedel Arboretum & Gardens

The Schedel Arboretum & Gardens in Elmore planted 600 chrysanthemums along the driveway approaching the manor house recently. The mums are of various colors and were grown by Bench’s Greenhouse in Elmore, according to superintendant Jeff Saffran. The SA&G ceased planting the beautiful fall display a few years ago in an effort to save money. This year, however, thanks to a $1,000 grant from the Ottawa County Community Foundation and a significant gift from the family of Marilyn Bandfield the tradition was restored.
