Perkins defeats Oak Harbor, 35-16

Despite holding a nine-point lead at two different points in the game, Oak Harbor was unable to hold on, allowing Perkins to score 28 unanswered points in the Pirates' 35-16 victory over the Rockets at Firelands Regional Medical Center Stadium on Friday night.

Down 16-7, Perkins, which improved to 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the Sandusky Bay Conference, responded and scored midway thru the second quarter to cut the deficit to two points on an 81-yard run by Tyrique Sharpe with 5:51 remaining. The Pirates took the lead for good at 21-16 on their next possession, which was set up by a Matt Schweinfurth interception, scoring on a nine-yard run by Sharpe less than two minutes before the half.

Toledo Christian pulls away from Danbury, 50-6

Momentum swings are critical in sports, and that was never more evident in Danbury's 50-6 loss to Toledo Christian on Thursday night at Start High School.

After the Lakers cut the deficit to 14-6 with 4:40 remaining in the second quarter on a 56-yard touchdown pass from Seth Vargo to John Rhodes, the Eagles responded, scoring on a 92-yard kickoff return by Caleb Wotring to push the lead back to 21-6 and seize back the momentum.

Huron defeats Port Clinton, 20-7

After experiencing so much success in recent weeks, Port Clinton lost for the second time this season, falling, 20-7, to Huron on Friday night at True-Lay Stadium.

The Tigers, currently alone in first place in the Sandusky Bay Conference, fell behind 7-0 before scoring 20 unanswered points to get the win. 

Huron is now 7-0 and 4-0 in the SBC, and the Redskins are now 6-2 overall and 2-2 in the league. Port Clinton is now ranked fifth in the Division IV, Region 12 Standings with 14.03 points.

The Tigers, which employ a spread offense and is known for passing the ball, accumulated 335 yards of total offense, but 258 came on the ground Huron established control at the line of scrimmage. Running back Kyle Kovach led the way, running for 108 yards and scoring three touchdowns while Danzell Harris rushed 14 times for 93 yards. In fact, Tigers quarterback Kyle Kovach attempted only nine passes on the night, completing five of them for 81 yards.
