Immaculate Conception Preschool open houses March 12 and 16

Immaculate Conception Preschool is located at 109 W. 4th Street in Port Clinton.  It is open to children of all faiths and is a state licensed preschool. On Wednesday, March 12, from 9-10:30 a.m., families interested in four year old preschool are invited to an actual school day to observe, play and learn.  Parents and children will have the opportunity to get their questions answered and meet the IC Preschool staff.  If a family plans to attend this session, call the school to at 419.734.3315. 

On Sunday, March 16, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m., families interested in both three and four year old preschool classes can tour the school, meet the preschool staff, and pick up registration paperwork.  No reservations are necessary for this event.  For more information, call the school at 419.734.3315.

Kerynn Christiansen ICS principal for a day

Miss Kerynn Christiansen reported for duty on Thursday, Feb. 13, for her new position at Immaculate Conception School. Kerynn was “Principal for a Day” at ICS. The first grader took the place of Principal Connie Snyder, for just one day. Kerynn wasted no time at all making a few small changes to the normal school day at ICS. She reported for duty with a list of priorities she would put into effect immediately. 

First and foremost, everyone was permitted to give the school uniform a rest for the day and wear their jeans to school. Secondly, recess was a bit longer on Thursday and an important task was given by Principal Kerynn to the entire school. Each class had to build a snowman, the biggest and best snowman they could as a team create. Kerynn rewarded her hardworking students by delivering pizza to each classroom after recess. 

With Mrs. Snyder’s guidance, Kerynn also helped with many office tasks. She even completed classroom inspections. At the end of the school day, Kerynn took to the PA system to tell the school that she had a great day being in charge and she hoped they all did, too. 

Being Principal for a Day was auctioned off at last year’s Immaculate Conception School auction. This year’s auction is April 26 and the theme is “Happy 90th Birthday ICS”, as the school embarks on celebrating 90 years of providing a faith filled education in Port Clinton. Immaculate Conception School would be so grateful for any monetary gifts or donations of products or services from our community for this year’s auction. ICS Preschool celebrates Valentine’s Day, announces open houses

On Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Preschool in Port Clinton Miss Mary Heschel’s four year olds made a variety of patterns of pink and red hearts down the school’s corridors in celebration of Valentine’s Day.

Immaculate Conception Preschool is now accepting registration for 3 and 4 year olds for the 2014-2015 school year and planning two open houses to welcome new students and show any interested families j what Immaculate Conception Preschool offers. The first is on Wednesday, March 12, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Parents and children 3 and 4 years old are welcome to take a look at the preschool, meet the preschool staff, and ask any questions. The second open house is Sunday, March 16, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
