Recycle and reuse

By Carol Morgan, Lakeside Heritage Society Board President

Thinking about throwing out grandma’s rocking chair?  Wait!  We just might be able to find a home for that rocking chair.  The Lakeside Heritage Society holds a Recycle Sale twice a year, one during the Memorial Day weekend in May (May 22 through May 25) and a second during the Labor Day weekend (September 4 through September 7).  Both are held on the Lakeside Chautauqua grounds in South Auditorium on Central Avenue, between 5th and 6th Streets.

Farm tire recycling collection

The agricultural community will once again have an opportunity to recycle their unwanted farm tires through a collection sponsored by the Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca Joint Solid Waste District.  The event will be held at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds in Fremont in the north parking lot.  This collection is open to farm owners, operators and residents in the three county area (including Bellevue and Fostoria residents).  ABSOLUTELY NO DEALERS or AGRI-BUSINESSES WILL BE PERMITTED.
