Cramer wins Oak Harbor’s 22nd state wrestling title

Behind Luke Cramer’s first-place finish at 170 pounds, the Oak Harbor Rockets finished seventh at the Division II State Wrestling Meet with 44 points, the sixth time in seven years that the team has finished in the top-10 at the state meet.

Along with Cramer’s victory at 170, fellow senior Jared Chambers came in fifth at 152 and sophomore T.J. Lawrence was eighth in the heavyweight division (285).

Oak Harbor sends four wrestlers to state

Led by district champion Luke Cramer, the Oak Harbor wrestling team is sending four wrestlers to the Division II State Meet after its performance this weekend at the district tournament in Bowling Green.

Cramer, who placed fourth at state at 138 pounds last season, dominated his weight class, winning all four of his matches in convincing fashion. Cramer (38-5) won his first two matches by fall before defeating reigning state champion Chris Moore of Clyde, 6-0, before beating Bryan’s Brock Nagel by technical fall, 17-2, in the finals.
