Oak Harbor boys and girls soccer teams earn Academic All-Ohio Honors

On Monday, March 11, the Oak Harbor High School Athletic Department received a very exciting letter. Enclosed were two certificates from the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association. These certificates were the official notification that both the Oak Harbor High School boys and girls varsity soccer programs had earned the most prestigious team academic honor in the state, Academic All-Ohio.

In order to for a team to accomplish this feat, the team must maintain an overall grade point average of at least a 3.0 throughout the soccer season. So above and beyond working hard on the soccer fields, the Oak Harbor High School boys and girls soccer teams also work hard to achieve in the classroom.

Hooray for Hollywood at Playmakers

The singing nuns of "Nunsense" fame are heading to Hollywood in Dan Goggin's lively musical, "Nunset Boulevard", which opens at Playmakers Civic Theatre, 604 W. Sixth Street, Port Clinton, on April 4.  The story goes that the nuns think they have been invited to perform at the Hollywood Bowl.  When they arrive in Hollywood, they are surprised to learn that they have been booked at the Hollywood Bowl-A-Rama.  Thus the comedy rolls on with song and dance.  The show is very funny along with tender, message moments.  These five nuns, brought to life by Sylvia Chappell, Karen Abbott, Angela Fishburn, Louise Retzer and Donielle Yates, are irreverent but always respectful to their calling and their faith.
