Downtown Scavenger Hunt

A Scavenger Hunt is planned for Saturday, April 6, from noon until 4 pm. in downtown historic Port Clinton.  Families and friends are encouraged to create a team and participate in this family-friendly event.  What a great way to visit our downtown retail shops, restaurant, and service businesses.  Prizes will be given for first, second and third place. All competing teams who complete the Scavenger Hunt will be entered in to win Chamber gift certificates.

Movie films at Bodi N Balance

Mid-day Sunday the movie “King of Palookaville” filmed a scene at Bodi N Balance gym at Harbor Light Landing in Port Clinton. The feature-length independent film has been filming in the Sandusky and Port Clinton/Marblehead area the past few weeks.

Joey Cassel of New Departure Productions is a Sandusky-born-and-based videographer and photographer. He studied film and video production at Cleveland State University and has written six feature length screenplays, all of which have won awards.

Mental Health/Drug Abuse Court congratulates 20th and 21st graduates

Magistrate Louis P. Wargo III presided over a special session of the Ottawa County Municipal Court Tuesday, March 5, at 10 a.m. Wargo recognized two graduates of its Benchmark Alcohol/Drug and Mental Health Intervention Court Program, the 20th and 21st  graduates overall, after its regularly scheduled weekly session. The Court session, followed by a reception for the graduates and their supporters, honored the program’s graduates for their successful completion of the approximately two-year court program. Judge Frederick C. Hany II noted that, “Since its inception in July 2008, the Benchmark Program has served the families and citizens of Ottawa County by addressing the County’s mental health and substance abuse issues. That these are the Court’s 20th and 21st graduates, speaks volumes, in and of itself, to the court’s long term commitment to the families and citizens of this county.”

Senior Centers sponsor Hollywood Casino Raffle

The Senior Centers of Ottawa County and Walker Funeral Homes of Ottawa County are sponsoring a raffle for a trip to the Toledo Hollywood Casino. All proceeds will benefit the Ottawa County Senior Citizens’ Levy. The Hollywood Casino package includes a Limo ride to and from the Toledo Hollywood Casino, $500 in chips for the Hollywood Casino, and dinner for 4 at the Epic Buffet (located in the Hollywood Casino). There will also be cash prizes of $200, $100 and $50 for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners, respectively. 

Raffle Tickets sell for $5 per ticket and can be picked up from any Ottawa County Senior Center. Winners will be announced at the Spring Senior Day at Camp Perry on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. For more information, please contact Danbury Senior center at 419-798-4101.
