Seniors honor Vietnam Vets

More than 100 seniors from across the county came together today at Riverview Healthcare Campus, home of the Harbor Lights Senior Center, to honor our country’s Vietnam Veterans and the procession of the Vietnam Combat Veterans' Moving Wall as it passed through Ottawa County on it way to Elmore.
Seniors gathered at the Multipurpose Room of Riverview beginning at 9:30 a.m. for a coffee and doughnut social sponsored by Walker Family Funeral Homes. Dave Ninke performed several patriotic songs in preparation of the procession. After the coffee social, seniors proceeded to the road to honor their fellow countrymen. Many carried signs and waved American Flags in tribute to the many veteran motorcycle riders who accompanied the procession.

The wall is set up now at Depot Park in Elmore.
