Congratulations to the new Board of Trustees inducted at last Wednesday’s Port Clinton Kiwanis Club meeting.

We had 159 entries in our “Where’s Wylie” contest this week and our winner is Pat Wales of Marblehead who found Wylie Walleye in the ad for Fishtales Diner on page 3B of last week’s Beacon. Pat wins a $20 gift certificate to the Martha & Molly’s in Marblehead. We’ll be hiding Wylie Walleye again this week in one of our ads. If you find him, register to win by mailing the form in the paper; by dropping it off at our office next to Goodwill Industries in the Beacon Place Shopping Center; e-mail your entry to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. What a buzz last weekend in regards to the Port Clinton High School Marching Band’s performance at St. John Arena on the campus of THE Ohio State University last Saturday. Following the band’s performance, it was announced that PCHS alumnus, Nathan Harris, a current OSU Marching Band member, was honored to be invited into the TBDBITL Alumni Club and would also be receiving a scholarship to Ohio State.
