Red Cross Trainings Scheduled

The American Red Cross has a variety of first aid kits, as well as, Adult 3-Day Survival kits available for purchase at the local office.  Also available are Dog First Aid and Cat First Aid self-study books, including DVD, for pet lovers.

The American Red Cross is offering the following trainings locally in January held at Magruder Hospital, First Floor Conference Room, 615 Fulton St.:  Adult CPR – Wednesday, January 14, 6 – 10 p.m.; Infant/Child CPR – Thursday, January 15,6 – 9:30 p.m. and First Aid Basics – Wednesday, January 21 – 6 – 8:30 p.m.

Exercises Classes Offered at The Vineyard

The Vineyard on Catawba has announced that the public is invited to join in the exercise classes now being offered.

“Sit-Fit, 55 Plus”, will begin on January 5 and will be held on Mondays at 2 p.m. and on Fridays at 10 a.m.  Each class will last for 50 minutes.  Classes held before January 17 are FREE.  Beginning January 19 classes will cost $3 per person.

Diabetes Program Scheduled at Magruder

On Monday, January 19 at Noon in the Magruder Hospital Conference Center, Dr. Phillip Kennedy will present a program on diabetes.  Dr. Kennedy will talk about the warning signs of diabetes, the different types of diabetes as well as treatment and management of the disease.  Dr. Kennedy is a family practitioner with Dr. Dan Cadigan at the Ottawa Family Care Center in Port Clinton.

This program is part of the monthly health education luncheon series put on by Magruder, and it is open to the public. Cost for the lunch is $6, and interested individuals can RSVP to 419-734-3131 ext. 3363, by January 15.
