A crowd of 280 looked on as Bud, Gary and Bob Buhrow were lauded for all the support they have given the Annual 5th Grade Conservation Field Day over the last 30 years. Rich Thorbahn, Soil and Water Conservation District Chairman made the announcement with a presentation depicting the Buhrow’s business operation, which was opened in 1918 in a small building on Toussaint North Road. Thorbahn stated, “It was the place to go when you needed a piece green machinery.” This four generation family business continued to thrive and in 1991 then moved to a more central location in Gibsonburg. For 88 years they owned and operated Buhrow’s Implement until 2006, when Findlay Implement purchased the business, but you’ll still see many familiar family faces there. Thorbahn stated, “Through their generous donation of equipment, the Buhrow family has helped us transport well over 23,000 students across the dike of the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge and Crane Creek Magee Marsh. Tonight, we thank you for that continued support.” Comments (0)
