| Japanese, wine appreciation and more offered at Terra |

The Kern Center for Community and Industrial Development at Terra Community College offers a variety of non-credit courses and seminars for individuals and businesses. The following is a list of personal enrichment courses this winter: · Conversational Japanese — This is a very practical course for beginning conversational Japanese learners. Instructor: Yumi Senour. 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursdays for 10 sessions beginning Feb. 11. Cost: $239. · More Conversational Japanese — This course builds on the first Japanese course. 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursdays for 10 sessions beginning April 29. Cost: $239. · Spanish for Healthcare Providers — This is an excellent course for healthcare providers who must communicate quickly and effectively with patients who speak primarily Spanish. Instructor: Christine Schneider Smith. 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays for six sessions beginning April 27. Cost: $99. · Introduction to American Sign Language — This is designed for beginners who want to learn the basics of American Sign Language, the universal language of the deaf community. Instructor: Tiffany Thornbury. 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays for 10 sessions beginning Feb. 10. Cost: $159. · Wine Appreciation – This introductory course, with instructor Kim Kocher, has been designed to give students the basics to further their wine appreciation. The class is limited to 20 and will meet at Ralph’s Joy of Living in downtown Fremont. 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays for four sessions beginning Feb. 15. Cost: $59. · Conducting Effective Meetings – Instructor Dave Mehl will cover topics focused on effective meeting principles.
