Donald L. Williams
Donald L. Williams, 86, passed away on May 10, 2009 at the Health Center of Plant City, Florida. He was predeceased by his wife Carolyn of 37 years and survived by his only son Donald L. Williams Jr. and grandchildren Grant and Grace of Lithia, Florida.
Don was born October 25, 1922 in Wilmington, DE and was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for Douglas Aircraft in California where he joined the Army Air Corp near the close of World War II. After working for Packard for a short time he spent most of his career with General Motors in their advanced products division in Sandusky, Ohio.

He enjoyed golf, boating, and most of all, tinkering in his workshop. He was known locally for his retirement hobby of original design gold jewelry. He moved to Lithia, Florida in 2007 to be near his family.

He was laid to rest near his hometown at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler, Pennsylvania. A memorial will be held in his honor at the Catawba Island Club on July 9, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. Friends are invited to RSVP with Firelands Presbyterian Church at 419-734-6211.
