Destiny is president of the senior class, vice-president of the Key Club, and secretary of the National Honor Society, secretary of the band, a member of the Foreign Language Club and yearbook staff and an office aide.
She is a four-year member of the Laker Band and the featured twirler for the marching band. Destiny has lettered in basketball, serving as captain, and softball. She has earned her Academic and Activity letters. Last summer she represented Danbury High School at Girls State.Destiny is active in 4-H and served as president and vice-president of her club. She received the 2007 and 2008 basketball sportsmanship award from the Knights of Columbus. Destiny has received an award from the United States Air Force and Port Clinton Mayor’s award for her community service. Some of the service projects she has organized are Pennies for Police Dog Protection, Teddy Bears for children who experience loss (fire), and rugs for service personnel in Iraq.
After graduation Destiny plans to attend the University of Toledo, majoring in nursing, with future plans to become a nurse anesthetist.
In her free time she enjoys playing basketball, camping, volunteer work, organizing events and photography.
Her mother has influenced her the most. “She has been through so much throughout her lifetime and has always been strong, never giving up on her faith.”
The Danbury staff states that Destiny “is a leader and an excellent role model.” “She is reliable, positive, and always willing to help in any way that she can.” “Destiny works hard and is able to balance a full plate of academics and extra-curricular activities and remain an honor student.”
