Oak Harbor falls to Huron

Oak Harbor Varsity and JV Volleyball fell to an extremely good Huron team Tuesday night.  The JV lost in two 14-25 and 19-25.  The Varsity fell in three 7-25, 10-25, 10-25.  

Annie Quisno led the Rockets with 4 kills; Jordyn Thorp and Athena Eli each had 18 serve receptions; Emma Bergman and Kasey Sundermeier each contributed 5 assists.

Apple Festival Royalty Court looking for contestants

2012's Apple Blossom and Johnny Appleseed at last year's Apple Festival.

It’s time again to begin the search for the new Apple Festival Royalty Court. The Royalty Court will reign for a period of one year. They will have the opportunity to travel, learn about other communities in our state, meet many new friends, and gain experience speaking in public as they share with others information about our festival.

The Apple Festival Royalty Court consists of an Apple Queen (grades 9-11), Apple Princess (grades 6-8), Johnny Appleseed and Apple Blossom (both grades K-1). All court members must be residence of the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District. Past Royalty members which have previously held a title (this excludes runners-up) may not compete for that particular title again. They may however compete for a different title.

Oak Harbor falls to Ottawa-Glandorf, 34-17

Ultimately, Oak Harbor’s mistakes did them in.

Despite hanging with Ottawa-Glandorf for much of the game, four Rocket turnovers were the difference in their 34-17 loss to the Titans on Friday at the Launchpad. 

Oak Harbor raced out to a 10-3 lead after running back Andrew Heberling scored on a 65-yard touchdown run midway thru the second quarter, but Ottawa-Glandorf responded by scoring 21 unanswered points, taking a 17-10 lead into the half before scoring on the first possession of the third quarter to go ahead 24-10.
