Madyson Ritz named Sight Princess at Lions Perch Festival

The Marblehead Peninsula Lions Club held their 22nd annual Perch Festival on Saturday, August 23, at James Park. The Perch Festival is the primary fundraiser for the Marblehead Peninsula Lions Club. All of the money raised at the event goes back into the Marblehead community and to improving sight and preventing blindness.

The grand marshals of the parade were the Danbury Laker Athletic Booster Association. The athletic boosters organize grade seven through grade twelve athletics and also give scholarships to students. Bill Chapman, president of the boosters, gave a short speech thanking the community and the Lions Club at the event.

Ohio’s Navy serves at Marblehead Lighthouse

On Saturday, August 9, members of the Ohio Naval Militia assisted with conducting a five-hour tour of the Marblehead Lighthouse. Nearly 500 guests climbed the 77 steps of the oldest lighthouse in continuous operation on all of the Great Lakes.
