Apple Festival royalty nominated

The judges have narrowed down the contestants to two candidates for Queen and two candidates for Princess for the Oak Harbor Apple Festival Royalty for 2012-2013. 

They have also chosen the 2012-2013 Apple Blossom and Johnny Appleseed.

This year’s contestants for Apple Festival Queen are Linda Nietfeld and Aleighsha Pond.

Linda Nietfeld, 15, is the daughter of James and Lauri Nietfeld of Oak Harbor. She is a freshman at Oak Harbor High School. Linda is currently Princess Runner-Up of the 2011-2012 Apple Festival Royalty Court.

Aleighsha Pond, 14, is the daughter of Laura Tenny of Oak Harbor. She is also a freshman at Oak Harbor High School, where she is a cheerleader and participates in soccer and band. Aleighsha has earned several dance and cheer trophies as well as physical fitness awards. She has earned awards for having a 4.0 gpa as well as a 3rd place ribbon for artwork she displayed at the Ottawa County Fair.

This year’s contestants for Apple Festival Princess are Madison Crum and Hannah Lutman.

Madison Crum, 13, is the daughter of Kelly Crum of Oak Harbor. She is an eighth grader at Oak Harbor. Madison is a dancer at Class A Performing Arts, a member of the One Love Dance Team,  plays soccer and participates in choir. Madison has received many first and second place awards and medals for dance. She has won a spelling bee and was accepted into the Student Council.
