In October four agricultural industry partners, Sunrise Cooperative, CoBank, Land O’ Lakes and CHS, gathered to donate funds to Riders Unlimited Incorporated, a non-profit equine assisted activities and therapies program (EAAT).
Together, these organizations provided $20,000 to support this cause’s efforts.
Located in Northwest Ohio, Riders Unlimited works to help individuals suffering from physical, mental, emotional and physiological disabilities through the utilization of EAAT.
“At Sunrise we make it a point to be involved in the community and show our support in any way we can, and Riders Unlimited is a very deserving organization,” says George Secor, President and CEO of Sunrise Cooperative. “Rebekah and the volunteer staff at Riders Unlimited are dedicated to supporting and mentoring adults and children with disabilities. Witnessing the impact this program makes on its students, and experiencing how equine therapy has improved these individuals’ lives is inspiring. Sunrise and our industry partners are honored to help Riders Unlimited continue to help those in our community.”
Riders Unlimited Inc. serves those with disabilities primarily from Sandusky and Ottawa counties, plus all surrounding counties in Northwest Ohio. Currently the organization is serving approximately 35 individuals. Carol B. Brown founded the organization in 1996 at Transformation in Marblehead, Ohio.
