Ottawa County Helping Hand Toy Drive has begun

The Ottawa County Helping Hand Toy Drive is the collaborative efforts of The Salvation Army, Toys for Tots “Weapons Company 1/24” and Ottawa County Holiday Bureau.

These agencies partner with other community organizations to assure that each child in Ottawa County receives a gift under their tree this holiday season.
By partnering, we are able to provide assistance to all who are in need and make our donated dollars stretch, by not duplicating one another.  Because of this collaboration, last year nearly 6,500 toys were distributed to children in Ottawa County.
This year we anticipate serving a minimum of 1,900 children countywide.  The toy collection boxes will be out in our local stores, churches, banks and businesses starting Nov. 19th through Dec.10th.  All toys collected will stay in Ottawa County and serve our local residents in need.
If you would like to help, you can drop off your new unwrapped toy donations at the following locations:
ODOT, Bassetts, Crosswinds, Cube Smart, Curves in Port Clinton and Oak Harbor, Newport Dry Goods, Family Dollar, Frederick’s Insurance, Sandusky Bay Station, 1812/Rosie’s, Edward Jones (Jeff Chio), Gabriel Anthony’s, Dollar General, Firelands Presbyterian, First Federal of Lorain Bank, Huntington Bank – Catawba/Port Clinton, Key Bank, Krogers, Lagoon Saloon, Lakeside United Methodist Church, Magruder Hospital, Dylan Olivia’s, National Bank of Ohio, PNC Bank, Post Office, The Beacon, Trinity United Methodist Church, Wood Forest Bank, No Limits,  The Salvation Army-Sutton Center, or mail a donation to The Salvation Army, 1854 E. Perry Street, Suite #800, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452.
Let’s all work together this holiday season to make sure each child in Ottawa County receives something special under their tree.  If you would like to make a donation or have questions, please call The Salvation Army – 419-732-ARMY (2769) and speak with Director, Maureen Saponari.
