Campaign to recruit readers and tutors

A volunteer reader plays an important role in increasing a child’s academic success and engagement in learning.

That’s why the United Way, Ida Rupp Public Library, Ottawa County Family and Children First Council, Port Clinton News Herald, and AmeriCorps have teamed to recruit 100 readers.

Reader training will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Ida Rupp Public Library.  Readers are needed for the Port Clinton, Oak Harbor, Harris Elmore and Genoa areas to complete training and then read at area preschools.

For more information or to sign up for the training, please call Jennifer Buch at the Ida Rupp Public Library.  419-732-3212
