Saturday afternoon the streets of Oak Harbor were filled with strollers, children, pre-teens,
parents and grandparents as the annual Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt took place. Winter parkas and fuzzy hats were more in fashion on the cool early spring day than Easter bonnets.
The Hunt began with each child picking two plastic eggs from the park lawn. Inside the eggs were numbers which were taken on a Candy Hunt to participating businesses. When the matching number was found, the child received a bag of candy and goodies. There were also several golden eggs that were redeemed for special Easter baskets. Over 350 children participated.
After the Candy Hunt, the stream of children flowed to the Fire Station, where the Apple Festival Court offered ( temporary) Easter tattoos and hostessed visits with the Easter Bunny.
