Spring is the start of many activities in the Village of Marblehead and around the region. With spring and warmer weather come construction and street projects. Currently the Streets Committee is working hard to drive every street and determine what projects are of the highest priority and will fall within the budget set for fiscal year 2013.
May begins the true kickoff to events and activities for residents and tourist alike. Saturday, May 11, is the opening of the Lakeside Daisy (Colleen "Casey" Taylor & Ruth E. Fiscus) State Nature Preserve and the Marblehead Bank 5K run/walk. This year on Monday, May 22, the Village of Marblehead will once again participate with Lakeside Chautauqua in observance of Memorial Day, a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
Over the winter, the Board of Public Affairs hired a new Water Department Superintendent. On February 25 Matt Berry started his service to the Village of Marblehead and its residents. Matt comes to us with from Lodi, OH, with 17 years experience. We are pleased to welcome Matt and Heather along with their children Callaway and Louisa.
As always, if you have questions about what is happening in the village please contact anyone from council and get involved. We wish you a safe and prosperous season.
