LESI staff are celebrated with ribbon cutting
Larry Fletcher cuts the ribbon surrounded by many of those instrumental in the success of the Center
On Thursday Lake Erie Shores and Islands Welcome Center in Port Clinton celebrated their tenth anniversary in grand style. Executive Director Larry Fletcher and his staff welcomed local dignitaries and visitors with fine food and beverages, cello music, presentations, and, of course, an anniversary cake.
Ottawa County Commissioner Jim Sass offered his congratulations on the Welcome Center’s success, saying, “It is all because of the people that work here. Keep up the good work. We need the taxes.” His comments were echoed by Pat Barker, Interim Director of the Ohio Office of Tourism, who reminded those gathered of the importance of the $40 billion tourism industry to the state of Ohio.
