The deadline to donate books for the Friends of Ida Rupp Public Library annual book sale is Friday, July 19. The book sale runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, and from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 3, in the community room of the library, 310 Madison St., Port Clinton.
Membership for the Friends of Ida Rupp Public Library is only $5, and Friends can come to the members-only sale from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1.
Donations of books for the sale will be accepted until Friday, July 19. Only books in good condition are needed. Magazines, textbooks and encyclopedias are not needed.
The group donates proceeds from this once-a-year sale to the library for necessary materials, supplies, equipment and improvements to help the library to continue providing excellent service to the community.
Recently, donations were used for the new plaza and statue in front of the library, making it an even more pleasant, inviting place to visit.
