Senior King & Queen of Pemberville Fair 2013 Ed and Lois Wozniak
Ed and Lois Wozniak were married in 1952 and moved to Pemberville in 1966. They have three children Ed Jr. of Buffalo, New York, Kathy O’Laughlin or Norfolk, Virginia, and David of Massachusetts. They also have been blessed with four grandchildren. After being discharged from the United States Navy in 1946, Ed utilized his G.I. Bill to further his education and become a diesel mechanic. In addition to working in his trade, he worked in his chosen field as a salesman, sat on the advisory board at Owens Community College, taught the first diesel mechanics class at Woodward High School, in Toledo, and served on the first Otterbein Portage Valley Board. Ed was also a Pemberville city councilman for more than 25 years. He enjoys working in the Bingo tent for the Pemberville Free Fair and doing woodworking in his spare time. Lois worked as a nurse for many years at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon. The last twelve years of her career she served as the Patient Education Coordinator. Lois is a past president of the Friends of the Library, Pemberville Library Reading Group for 15 years, the Quilt Show at the Pemberville fair, Mental Culture Club, Lakeside Federation of Women’s Clubs and the retired CCL group. She enjoys Bunco and the Wood County Hospital swim group known as Keep Moving.
When asked for their secret to a long, happy marriage Ed said “marry a good woman” and Lois said “marry a good man”.
