Public meetings to elect one low-income representative to the Board of Directors of WSOS Community Action Commission from each of the four primary counties WSOS serves have been scheduled. Representatives currently serving are eligible for re-election or new representatives may be elected.
Ottawa County residents will elect their representative at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, at the WSOS Early Childhood Center at 1846 E. Perry St., Port Clinton (the Sutton Center). The election will fill the seat of Ken Priddy, whose term expires Dec. 31. He has served on the board since 2011.
A light meal will be provided for those who attend any of the meetings. Reservations are required and may be made by calling 800-775-9767 or 419-334-8911.
Each of the four counties that WSOS serves – Wood, Sandusky, Ottawa, and Seneca counties - has two low-income representatives on the board of directors. Other representatives who make up the WSOS Board of Directors include two representatives from the public sector and two representatives from community interest groups in each county. There are 24 members on the board, six from each county, and meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the offices located at 109 S. Front Street, Fremont. Each meeting is open to the public.
