On Tuesday, the WSOS Board of Directors gave its approval to WSOS staff to apply for $30,000 from the Ohio Capitol Corporation for Housing Place-Based Strategies Fund. These funds will be used to demolish one or more blighted structures in the Conestoga West area of Port Clinton. The demolition would be an effort to improve the park area of the neighborhood and create a walk and bike path for the children who live there. This neighborhood borders on a tax credit development, Port Clinton Pointe, which WSOS contributed to constructing.
“This would be a safety improvement for the children and families in the neighborhood,” said Don Corley, WSOS housing development coordinator.
