Oak Harbor American Legion provides meal for veterans and community

The Oak Harbor American Legion provided a Thanksgiving meal that was not only served to the veterans of the area but to community members as well. Tom Decant, organizer of the event, has been involved with the Thanksgiving meal for five years. People came from Oak Harbor, Port Clinton, Fremont and other surrounding areas to enjoy the meal. The American Legion also delivered meals to people who couldn’t make it in to the Legion Hall.

One of the people enjoying the Thanksgiving meal was Thomas Durbin, who has been a member of the American Legion for 60 years. Durbin served in the Army and was a part of the Counter Intelligence Corps. For most of his service he was stationed in Columbus doing investigative work. He was there enjoying the meal with this daughter Diane, granddaughter Tina and son-in-law Herman.
