Main Street Port Clinton Walleye Festival’s distinguished 2014 Grand Marshall is Devin Michael Kohlman. Each year Main Street Port Clinton recognizes an individual at the Walleye Festival who has made a positive impact on the Port Clinton community.
There are no words that can describe what Devin Michael Kohlman did for the Port Clinton community. His strength, his fight, and his love brought Port Clinton, Ottawa County, the state, the nation and even the world together to support this young brave 13 year old boy.
Devin was an eighth grader at Port Clinton Middle School who fought an aggressive form of brain cancer for over a year.
Within hours of hearing that Devin was coming home to spend his final days, hundreds of residents lined the streets on a cold October night to welcome Devin home. He was escorted by police officers, fire trucks and medical personnel. Devin’s only wish was to celebrate Christmas and see snow. Adults, children and families graciously volunteered to make that happen. People who didn’t even know Devin worked to string lights, decorate Christmas trees and create a winter wonderland at Adams Street Park.
Devin touched a lot of people’s lives. The love that people showed was contagious. Main Street Port Clinton is honored to recognize Devin Kohlman.
