Lakeside Chautauqua welcomes Dr. Tony Campolo

Lakeside Chautauqua welcomes Dr. Tony Campolo as the Chaplain of the Week from July 13-16.

Dr. Tony Campolo will lead the 10:30 a.m. Hoover Community Worship Service on Sunday, July 13 in Hoover Auditorium. His sermon, titled “Living Life Over Again,” is based on Philippians 3:10-14.

For those who wish to attend worship, a complimentary Church Pass may be obtained Sundays between 7:30-10:30 a.m., valid until 3 p.m. The pass includes admittance for guests and auto.

Dr. Campolo will preach at 9:15 a.m. Monday-Wednesday for Chaplain’s Hour in Hoover Auditorium. His overall Chaplain’s Hour theme will be “Changing the World from the Inside Out.”

Dr. Allan Mosher, professor of Voice and director of the Opera Program at Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music, will also preach at Chaplain’s Hour Thursday-Friday in Orchestra Hall. He will discuss the Recitation of the Gospel According to Mark.

Dr. Mosher memorized the Gospel of Mark (King James Version) in 1983, inspired by the actor, Alec McCowan, who performed the entire gospel on the London and Broadway stage to great acclaim.

The concise, miracle-laden text of Mark’s account of the ministry of Jesus makes for an exciting, dramatic experience for the listener. No costumes or sets are used in the presentation.

Dr. Mosher brings the beautiful text alive as he recites the story of the Son of God written by John Mark – an early disciple of Jesus – with information supplied by the Apostle Peter.

A complimentary Chaplain’s Hour Pass is available from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. The pass includes admittance for guests and auto.

At 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dr. Campolo will lead Evening Prayer & Praise, held at the Steele Memorial Bandstand.
