Show chairman, Kim Hirt, teaching at the Quilt Regatta Quilt Show
The Ohio Star Quilters Guild held its biennial Quilt Regatta Quilt Show. The non-profit organization, consisting of quilters from all over north-central Ohio, held the show at Peace Lutheran Church July 18 and 19. In addition to having roughly 170 pieces of home décor, quilts, and various apparel on display, the show featured demonstration lessons on twining, rug making, English paper piecing, embroidering, locker hooking, and various other techniques. There was also a quilt appraiser on hand to access the monetary value of the quilts.
Particular proceeds from the event will be going towards their STIM quilt program, which provides premature babies with quilts sewn by members throughout the year. If you are interested in becoming a member of the guild, or would like to learn more about the art, there are open to the public meetings at Ida Rupp Public Library every Monday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
