Wild About Eyes special reading hour to be held at Ida Rupp Public Library

Prevent Blindness Ohio and the Ida Rupp Public Library are presenting a special reading hour at 10:30 a.m. on August 18.  Senator Randy Gardner and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur will read a book to children gathered for the hour.

The theme of the reading hour is children’s eye health and safety.  Specially selected books will introduce the children and their caregivers to the importance of taking care of your eyes, and Prevent Blindness Ohio will facilitate five stations of hands-on activities for the children to engage in that will help them understand the importance of eye health and safety. Each child attending will receive a special goody bag that contains a pair of sun/safety glasses, a copy of the book ‘Arthur’s Eyes,’ and assorted brochures for their caregivers.
