Persian Gulf Era Veterans Approaching Deadline for Ohio Veterans Bonus Application

Persian Gulf War veterans are reminded that an important deadline is falling just after the holiday. Applications for the Ohio Veterans Bonus for Persian Gulf era veterans must be submitted no later than Dec. 31.

Veterans eligible to receive the Persian Gulf War portion of the Ohio Veterans Bonus could have served anywhere in the world for at least 90 days active duty, not for training, between Aug. 2, 1990 and March 3, 1991. The amount of the bonus is higher for service in the Persian Gulf theatre. Eligible veterans must have been a resident of Ohio when they entered the military and must be a resident at the time they apply.

Ohio Veterans Bonus for those who served

Ohio has a unique way of thanking these recent veterans and those who serve. It’s the Ohio Veterans Bonus, for service given during the times of the Persian Gulf War and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But the Ohio Veterans Bonus won’t be around forever. The deadline for Persian Gulf War era veterans to apply is Dec. 31, 2013. Veterans of the Iraq War era have until Dec. 31, 2014, to apply. No deadline has been announced for veterans of the Afghanistan War era.
