Toledo Symphony Brass Quintet at Riverview, Otterbein

The Musical Arts Series at Firelands is sponsoring two free concerts by the Toledo Symphony Brass Quintet on April 24, thanks to a grant from the Ottawa County Community Foundation.  The concerts will be held at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Rt. 163, Oak Harbor, at 2 p.m. and at Otterbein Northshore, 9400 Northshore Blvd, Lakeside-Marblehead, at 3:30 p.m.  The public, as well as friends and relatives of residents of these two communities, are invited to attend.  These concerts replace two in March that were cancelled because of snow.

Riverview hosting Spring Craft Show

Ottawa County Riverview HealthCare Campus, on State Route 163 near Oak Harbor, will be hosting its 7th Annual “Swing into Spring” Craft Show on Saturday, April 5, 9-3 p.m.

Nearly 40 Vendors from four counties will have items for sale including wooden doll furniture; crocheted item; nautical quilted bags, aprons and purses; Mary Kay items; beach glass jewelry; Bright and Bouncy hairbows and tutu outfits; customized baby onesies; Scentsy candles, warmers and lotions; Vault designer jeans; hand woven rugs; handmade greeting cards; quilt racks; outdoor decorations; beaded jewelry; quilts and table runners; customized clothing; polar fleece items; swags; florals; computer services; Easter candies, jams and jellies; custom made pillows; Tupperware; spring ruffled scarves; infant layette sets and Faberge-style egg art.

Riverview hosts Community Preparedness Day

Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus will open its doors to the public on Saturday, March 1, for Community Preparedness Day. The morning will begin with a free pancake and sausage breakfast at 8:30 a.m. The presentation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and includes the following: Ottawa County Sheriff Steve Levorchick (Home Safety and Security), Kenan Mylander of the Mercy St. Vincent’s Burn Unit (Home Fire Prevention), Mike Drusbacky of the Ottawa County Emergency Management Agency (Davis Besse Nuclear Emergencies, Chemical Spills and Train Derailments), Beth Leggett of the Ottawa County Red Cross (Emergency Kits) and Meteorologist Kimberly Newman of Toledo News Now (Severe Weather).

“Our staff has listened to most of these presentations as in-services to use in our facility. The amount of information given has also been helpful in applying to our homes.  We felt it was important to give the community the opportunity to hear this information,” said Kendra German, Administrator of Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus.
